Beginning therapy often comes with questions.

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after some time away, it’s completely normal to want to know what to expect. I hope these answers help you feel a little more informed—and a little more at ease.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute virtual or phone consultation where we can get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.

There is no pressure or obligation to continue after the consultation. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is important, and I encourage you to choose someone who feels like the right fit for your needs.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Not at this time. I currently only offer therapy virtually to clients across Ontario.

How long are sessions?

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

Couples therapy begins with a 80-minute initial session, followed by one 50-minute individual session with each partner, before transitioning into ongoing 50-minute couples sessions.

This process allows me to understand both your shared relationship and each partner’s individual experiences, helping us build a strong foundation for our work together.

What are your fees?

Individual Therapy

  • 50-minute session: $140 CAD
  • Extended 80-minute session: $225 CAD

Couples Therapy

  • Initial 80-minute session: $240 CAD
  • Individual follow-up session for each partner: $140 CAD each
  • Ongoing 50-minute couples sessions: $160 CAD

Do you accept insurance?

Some extended health benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. Coverage varies between plans, so I recommend checking with your provider before your first appointment to confirm whether your plan includes Registered Psychotherapy.

I provide an electronic receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement where applicable.

How often will we meet?

For most clients, we begin by meeting weekly or every other week.

Together, we’ll decide on a schedule that best supports your goals, availability, and needs. Therapy is collaborative, and the pace of our work will be tailored to you.

Do you work with trauma?

Yes.

My work is trauma-informed, meaning I recognize how past experiences can continue to shape emotions, relationships, coping patterns, and our sense of self.

Together, we can gently explore these experiences at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and respectful of your needs.

Is virtual therapy effective?

Virtual therapy can be an effective option for many people and concerns.

All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

Many clients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of attending therapy from their own home.

What happens during the first therapy session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another.

We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain from the process, and any questions or concerns you may have. There is no expectation to share everything at once—we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of what working together might look like.

What does it mean that you’re a RP (Qualifying)?

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Being a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) does not mean that I am still in school or that I am not qualified to provide psychotherapy. The “Qualifying” designation simply means that, while I have completed the educational requirements for registration, I still need to obtain the direct client hours and supervision requirements needed to become a Registered Psychotherapist.
